UNTV 37’s media support for Philhealth programs cited

April 10, 2008

UNTV 37, the Philippines’ undisputed public service-based channel, was cited for its support in promoting Philhealth programs by the government.

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation awarded the Philhealth Media Partner Award to UNTV this year “in recognition of the channel’s role in the dissemination of information regarding the programs of Philhealth.

UNTV Station Manager Jay Sonza received the award and thanked Philhealth for recognizing the efforts of UNTV to deliver public service by way of useful and timely information.

He added, other services are also being given free of charge to the public with the flagship program hosted by radio and TV broadcast personality Mr. Daniel Razon, “Good Morning Kuya.” These services include free medical services, legal services, free bus rides, and even job search assistance and many others. This is in line with the station’s avowed mission to be the country’s truly public service channel.

Philhealth representatives have been frequent guests of Kaagapay, a public information program aired daily on UNTV 37 from 7 to 8 in the evening, hosted by Rolly “Lakay” Gonzalez, Annie Rentoy and Dr. Mandy Saguin. In one of the episodes of the said show, a Philhealth representative expressed the institution’s gratitude for increasing awareness of Philhealth’s programs to its members.

Aside from “Kaagapay” and “Good Morning Kuya,” UNTV 37 now also offers a slate of new programs designed to disseminate factual information as well as news analysis designed to educate television viewers. These programs are “Bahala si Bitag” hosted by hard-hitting TV investigative journalist Ben Tulfo, and “Ito ang Balita” anchored by Jay Sonza and Candace Giron.

UNTV’s “3G”, its mantra for 3rd year bash

June 29, 2007

Manila, Philippines – UNTV 37 is set to deliver the three G’s in mainstream Philippine broadcasting—Genuine, Global and Godly service—on its third year under Breakthrough and Milestone Network Productions International (BMPI) management.

Additionally, new programs, stronger and relevant public services and more are expected to be unveiled on the third year bash of the network at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, south of Manila.

UNTV Program manager Fred Cabanilla said among the public services to be unveiled are the free bus rides in EDSA, the mobile clinic, and the much-awaited Global Kumustahan, which is a free long-distance call to loved ones in other countries by their families here in the Philippines.

Cabanilla said that these projects are the brainchild of Daniel Razon, one of the network’s top honchos, adding “he’s (Razon) long been planning to introduce these projects as part of UNTV’s thrust to providing genuine public service … we’ve all been waiting for these with God’s help.”

After only three years, UNTV is now among the brightest TV networks in the Philippines with worldwide mileage. In using some of the most advanced and sophisticated technologies such as the satellite, the telephony and the Internet, UNTV makes sure that it is able to respond to the needs of Filipinos around the world with fresh, insightful, and relevant dose of entertainment, information, inspiration, and most of all, public service.

With more programs devoted to public service, UNTV operates 24/7 and never ceases to share to Filipinos the network’s sincere spirit, intelligent programming, and alternative broadcasting.

The joy and inspiration UNTV brings to the people, it hopes, would be a model in effectively promoting the true Christian values of charity, sincerity and compassion using the television and web media.
